Clinical Governance
The practice endeavours to provide the highest quality treatment and care that it can to its patients, ensuring at all times that it works with the most up-to-date clinical information and current best practice guidelines.

Education and Training

All staff, both clinical and non-clinical, take part in an annual appraisal system which links into their personal development program. Doctors and nurses are obliged professionally to maintain their continuing professional development to ensure their clinical skills are as up-to-date as possible.

The types of training staff take part in are updates, such as basic life support, health and safety, appraisal skills, team building and information governance. We also review the feedback from the annual patient survey in order to implement any changes that may be necessary.

The doctors regularly attend a variety of clinical treatment updates, GP register training sessions and resuscitation training days.

Clinical Effectiveness

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) is the independent organisation which is responsible for providing national guidance on the promotion of good health and the prevention and treatment of ill-health. It produces guidance in areas of health and public health, health technologies and clinical practice.

Health and Public Health Guidance on the promotion of good health and the prevention of ill-health for those working in the NHS, local authorities and the wider public and voluntary sector.

Health Technologies Guidance on the use of new and existing medicines, treatments and procedures within the NHS.

Clinical Practice Guidance on the appropriate treatment and care of people with specific diseases and conditions within the NHS.

Health and Safety
We have a framework for ensuring we are adhering to Health and Safety legislation within the practice both for staff working in the environment of the surgery as well as to prevent harm to you when you attend the surgery.
